Laurie started Ellis Accounting in Tacoma Wa., in 1991. Specializing in Accounting and Bookkeeping, she helped local businesses by measuring and improving performance while increasing their profitability. This enabled business owners to focus their attention on growing and developing their businesses. Genevieve Ellis soon joined forces and offered her expertise in tax preparation services. They moved the company to the Key Peninsula in 1998, and have continued to work closely with area businesses and within the community.

Laurie is the owner and president of Ellis Accounting, with responsibility for tax preparation, account payables, receivables, and specializes in the fundamentals of small business from finances to strategy and law.
Before creating Ellis Accounting, she worked at several companies performing accounts payable and receivable functions, forecasting budgets, financial reporting, handling payroll, as well as utilizing industry standards in running audits.
From 2017-2019, Laurie has served as President of the Washington State Tax Consultants, promoting excellence and professionalism in the tax preparation industry. And, continues monthly education and networking with other tax professionals.
Laurie is an Enrolled Agent, a federally-authorized tax practitioner who has technical expertise in the field of taxation and who is empowered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels.
